So after the draft happened I let the AI continue its questionable work by setting up the pitching staffs and lineups of each team (and also reset each team's strategy settings to some kind of default approach, traditional I think). Here's the results of that:

Providence
[attachmentid=223]
[attachmentid=222]

Providence ends up with 3 strong SP's and a 1st round rookie in support, plus a top closer and at least a few nice bullpen pieces. Chris Bennett, Phillip Thompson, Johnny Runakiwi, Ishikawa, and Steven Moore all crossed enemy lines to try and help one of VAN's main rivals finish ahead of the Vandals. Those 3 hitters were basically transplanted directly from VAN's lineup to PRO's, as they are reunited with tablesetter Biggio and joined by Bennett and Dong to build a solid top 6 in the order. This looks like a team to watch, though those last 3 batters are long since inactive and a few rookies like McBash and Kekton will never see the field sadly.

New York
[attachmentid=216]
[attachmentid=215]

New York went with the future stars approach for their pitching staff behind new ace Esteban Rodriguez; Banks and Oles are up-and-coming but likely not true #2 and 3 starters yet and Stryker is highly regarded as well. The bullpen is fairly weak on the surface at least, as Walker is another future star but probably not quite ready for solo closing duties and the rest of the bunch is rookies or inactives. On the other side of things, MacDonald and Buckshank are top earners of course with Stennett and Russell being top members of their classes and a few low activity guys like SOS and Lazaro have still been really solid. Despite my player being on the team, I'm not sure I'd call this bunch a favorite to win.

Outer Banks
[attachmentid=219]
[attachmentid=217]

Steiner is finally an ace in Outer Banks, with Auston and Deep providing decent support and Shea Stockton being selected by the AI as the #4 for no apparent reason. Groetzinger keeps a closer role with Jackson performing as his top setup guy, with most inactives and top rookie Lucas North filling out the rest of the spots. The top 4 of that offense is a really scary group, and all but Vain at DH are at least solid. The pitching staff worries me a bit but I could see them putting up a lot of runs.

San Antonio
[attachmentid=225]
[attachmentid=224]

Victoria takes her secrets to San Antonio, though the rest of her staff is inactive or retiring and Cheng is ahead of Wilson for some weird reason. The game also seems to consider Ovechkin as the best closer option still even when joined by actual stud Borkman and strong setup man Karpotsev. If the SP's behind Secret can keep things close the back end of the bullpen should be able to shut teams down. On the other side of the ball they have 3 top S1 guys in McCormick, Columbus, and Boss, plus former big names but now inactive guys like Phelps, Shmurda, and Macioce and the up-and-comers Benson and Borthwell. A fairly well-balanced team overall

Vancouver
[attachmentid=228]
[attachmentid=227]

Probably the only team with a currently strong 1-4 in the rotation, though they're all lefties for whatever that matters in this league. My man SMS can close out games with the best of them, though he's being underutilized as a strict closer and doesn't have the best supporting cast. On the other side of the ball, despite the strong core batting 2-3-4, John Doe is not a PBE-caliber leadoff man and other than Webster and somewhat Baratheon the rest of the starting hitters are inactives with varying levels of TPE.

Death Valley
[attachmentid=214]
[attachmentid=213]

Death Valley ended up with 3 decent SP's, though Kahn is not quite ready to be the #1 and the next 2 are lagging behind in TPE as well. McInnis should never be asked to throw a pitch in the PBE so that should be interesting. Kowers and Gamble is a nice combination to close out games at least. I can't imagine why OOTP wants Cope at 1B over McLish, but the top 4 batters are truly scary and the rest have some combination of decent hitting and a couple of star fielders.

A couple of more caveats: I forgot I was using the file that was already one sim/8 or 9 games into the season, so while I won't be counting those 9 for the purposes of the 3 teams making the playoffs, the stats from the games will impact a player's final stats. This likely also messed up the draft somewhat, as I believe OOTP AI uses stats as part of its evaluation, giving a boost to players like Kahn that had an extraordinary first sim. But ah well, here we go.

As we approach the All-Star game, most of the teams are pretty tightly bunched, with one team starting to put a little distance on everyone else (wasn't really a good way to screenshot this, but these are the standings not including the games before the draft) :

OBX: 25-17
SAS: 22-20
DVS and NYV: 20-21
PRO: 20-22
VAN: 18-24

And the all-star game rosters:
[attachmentid=208]
[attachmentid=209]

I have no idea what quirk of OOTP led to Mr. Irrelevant from the re-draft, Duke Williams (who also had literally no stats) being selected to the game, but I feel like this is sufficient evidence that both our ASG roster sizes are too large and that we should use/incorporate a player ballot as well.

A gem I noticed from the minors for caltroit_red_flames

[attachmentid=226]

Now let's just skip ahead to the end of the season for some final standing and stats:

OBX: 57-35
NYV: 49-42
DVS: 45-46
SAS and PRO: 42-50
VAN: 40-52

[attachmentid=221]

This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen

We also have the final leaderboards and awards, in case you want to see how well or poorly you did for fantasy already

[attachmentid=211]
[attachmentid=220]

[attachmentid=210]

After the first round of the playoffs, I got another beautiful email message in-game

[attachmentid=212]

Though in the end it was OBX continuing their dominance of the regular season and bringing home the title

[attachmentid=218]

Thanks for checking this out everyone, and let me know if you want to see anything else from this alternative universe
