Zach Galifianakis, star of the hit comedy The Hangover, will be throwing out the first pitch on Opening Day. Galifianakis, known for his idiocrasy in the characters he portrays, will be wearing his OBX jersey and have his full beard in tow as he throws the first pitch at Shell Castle Stadium. Galifianakis is a huge OBX fan, and despite recent difficult times, he’s still seen around Los Angeles and Hollywood wearing his OBX cap and rooting for them when he has time to catch a game on television. We’re also going to be giving out Galifianakis bobbleheads at the game for the first 1000 fans through the turnstiles.

Similarly to Galifianakis, actor Ken Jeong from Greensboro, North Carolina will be throwing out the first pitch on a yet-to-be determined game on the schedule. Jeong, a certified doctor turned actor who also got his major break from The Hangover, has always adored the sport of baseball since he was young. Jeong will be meeting with fans throughout the event and will be available for signatures and photographs at the Fan Runway in Section 126 during the third and fourth innings. Ken Jeong has asked us to remind you that he will not sign little shitake mushrooms and there is no outside food permitted within the ballpark. Thank you, fans.

The final celebrity first pitch will come from Pop Star of yesterday Clay Aiken. Aiken will throw the first pitch on a yet to be determined game and will offer Outer Banks fans a free pregame concert where he will perform hits such as This Is The Night, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and A Thousand Days. Aiken hails from Raleigh, North Carolina. Aiken will also be available to sign CDs after his concert, as long as you don’t judge or criticize how good his first pitch was. It probably won’t go well. You have to really make sure not to offend him. Please.

In the big apple, celebrities vie for the honor of throwing out the first pitch at a Voyagers game. In the coming season, the Aviators have announced an impressive slate of first pitch throwers, including:

Rapper/Producer/Music Mogul/New York native Shawn Corey Carter, better known by his rap persona, Jay-Z. Jay is perhaps the most notable and famous of all Voyagers fans, constantly calling out and repping the team in lyrics from his music, including the following in his hit single "Empire State of Mind":

"Catch me at the X with OG at a Voyager game
S***, I made the Voyager hat more famous then a Voyager can,"

As a result of such pride in the team, the Voyagers are thrilled to give Jay the opportunity to toss out the first pitch. While the date has yet to be announced, fans eagerly await Jay's appearance on the mound, and hope that his first pitch will be better than the next name on our slate...

...which is another rapper -- Curtis James Jackson III -- better known as 50 Cent. Hailing from Queens, Jackson is also a diehard Aviators fan. And like Jay, Jackson is a multi-platinum recording artist who reps New York in his lyrics. In throwing out the first pitch this coming season, Jackson seeks redemption after his first-pitch-throwing career took a turn for the worst. New York fans will be glued to their televisions, eagerly awaiting the conclusion of one of baseballs greatest comeback stories. Can Jackson do the impossible, and throw a first pitch over the plate? The only way to know is to tune in.

Finally, another New York native turned US President Donald Trump has declared his plans to throw out the first pitch at an upcoming Voyagers game. While the team has not officially commented on whether or not Trump is actually scheduled for this, Trump was quoted in a recent interview on the matter, in which he said that "it will be the greatest first pitch, ever. No first pitch has ever been as hard and accurate as the one I will throw." Assuming these reports are true, Voyagers fans will have to set their political views aside and come together to see whether or not Mr. Trump is as good a pitcher as he claims.

The most famous thing to throw the first pitch in Death Valley is probably a cactus. Death Valley isn't exactly home to many local residents, and as such, there aren't any famous people from Death Valley. However, a really particular cactus that grew real big in the middle of the town became super famous to people throughout western California and into Nevada on the border. Because this cactus is the most famous thing to come out of Death Valley, all of the Scorpions' fans have been clamoring for it to make an appearance at The Heatwave Park. The ballpark staff set it up so the cactus could rear back its "arm" with a slingshot so it could hurl a baseball towards home plate.

San Antonio's biggest star, Tim Duncan, typically doesn't make many public appearances. As such, his appearance at The Treehouse last season for Opening Day to throw out the first pitch was a real shock and fans were thrilled to see him. Duncan, in his usual self-reserved form, got the ceremony done rather quickly. His windup was a bit long and awkward, as he stands at nearly 7 feet tall. Before the events of this past offseason in the NBA, Kawhi Leonard was probably the most famous first pitch thrower in San Antonio. However, Spurs fans and all San Antonians alike are wiping him out of their memory, so big Tim Duncan is now their GOAT.

New York Knicks star big man Kristaps Porzingis has been making waves in the NBA. Although he's now out for the considerable future with an ACL injury, he still made an appearance at the Voyagers' final home game of last season. Porzingis walked out to the mound very slowly with the help of several of the Knicks' trainers and medical staff. Voyagers fans, many of which are also Knicks fans, of course, cheered loudly for their fallen star. Although the Voyagers are still obviously in a big rebuild, they have some key cornerstones to build around, and Porzingis' arrival at the game inspired Voyagers fans to both believe in the Knicks and their own team.

--Is it considered vein to throw out the first pitch at your own team's Opening Day? Well, that's the plan for the Providence Crabs as original General Manager Jackson Jackson has announced that he trusts only himself alone to throw out the first pitch on the first game of the season. But of course, Jackson Jackson is a catcher and usually responsible for reigning in the tosses of celebrity -- so who will catch for him? "Nobody," Jackson answered, "I'll just whip it at the backstop." Certainly, it will be an interesting thing to watch. But Jackson has been known for one thing above all else throughout his career -- extremely erratic behavior.

--Speaking of erratic behavior Terrell Owens will be on the site of Dunkin Donuts Park to launch a first pitch at some point in the early part of the season. The newly induced Hall of Famer raised eyebrows when he decided to hold his own induction ceremony in protest of the voters in Canton. "I respect TO as a player and as a human fuckin' being. Those sportswriters did him too dirty, and I want him to know he is an honorary Crab through and through. Owens will even be wearing a custom made Crabs jersey and gloves donning his signature number 81.

--Rounding out the celebrity first pitchers announced today is perhaps the most surprising name on the list, none other than Kanye West. West produced a track with Jackson Jackson called "Catch The Crabs" that was released on Soundcloud to unprecedented praise. It went quadruple platinum in less than 30 minutes and won every major music award instantly. West and Jackson are close friends, with Jackson spending some time in West's compound in Wyoming during the composition of his most recent album "Ye." However, despite the success of Catch The Crabs, Jackson immediately retired from his musical career saying that "he'd already reached the top" and "would like to focus on winning a title for Providence." Perhaps adding West to the list of fans will give the team the push it needs.

QUOTE (bovo @ Feb 6 2018, 04:02 PM)

When you step into the Crabs locker room, you’re not going just any old place. You’re going into THE underground fight club of intellect. Prepare to be mentally stimulated more than you could ever hope or imagine.

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., aka Snoop Dog, is a rapper that is well known for his football passion. But football isn’t the only sport he follows. He may be a Long Beach native, but he has recently come to love the San Antonio Sloths. He fell in love with the place after accidentally stumbling into a game at the Treehouse.
“Look man, I was just looking for some weed and I ended up at some place called the Treehouse on accident.” Said Snoop Dogg on how he found the place. “Turns out me and Sloths aren’t too much different. We both like to take our time and chill while surrounded by trees.”

They said 50 Cent “couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn.” Angered by this, 50 Cent made a plead to all the MLB teams to let him redeem himself. After all the MLB teams refused, stating fan safety as a priority this season, he shifted his attention the PBE. He held a series of tryouts with the GMs of the league. By the time all was said and done, he had been rejected by the Sloths, Vandals, and Crabs, the three best teams in the league. Death Valley said that he could try again next year.

He received contract offers from OBX and NYV.

Buck Strickland, the owner, founder, and operator of Strickland Propane headquartered in Arlen, isn’t the most well-known of wealthy individuals. Despite this, he has ran a successful business which has ties throughout most of Texas, including San Antonio. With connections through his employee, Hank, he was able to contact the GM of the team. In return of a lower whole sale price on propane accessories for the Treehouse, Buck was allowed to throw the first pitch. While he was very much awake for the first pitch, by the time the last pitch was thrown, Buck was blackout drink, mumbling nonsense to his mistress, Luanne.

With a city as renowned as New York, celebrities will line up around the block to be able to throw out a first pitch in order to promote some new project they have going on. A celebrity who is confirmed to throw out a first pitch for the Voyagers some time during the season is none other than Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. Better known by his stage name, Lil Wayne, Wayne's long awaited album "Tha Carter V" is rumored to be releasing some time this year. So, it would make sense for Lil Wayne to throw out the first pitch for promotion of this album close to the release date of the album. So, to all Lil Wayne fans, whenever Lil Wayne throws out this pitch, the album should follow up soon after.

Death Valley, the city of sand and extremely hot temperatures. Temperatures so hot that people should not be living there at all, but the Death Valley Scorpions still play there. So, who would possibly want to throw the first pitch at a Death Valley game? Well, none other than WWE superstar, The Undertaker! The Deadman is rumored to be throwing the first pitch in an upcoming Scorpions game. In his infamous black trench coat and hat, Taker will presumably be doing this to promote an upcoming WWE event. Hailing from Death Valley, the Undertaker will look to please his hometown crowd. It is speculated that he will rise from a casket after being wheeled out onto the field, but nothing is certain now. All that is known right now is that this will be an interesting sight to see.

The final big name celebrity that will throw out a ceremonial first pitch, as of today, will be former NBA star and Hall of Famer, Charles Barkley. He will throw out the first pitch for the San Antonio Sloths on a date to be determined. During an interview, Barkley says he is doing this to promote a San Antonio based nonprofit that helps people who are obese. Barkley was quoted saying "I believe this will be a good cause to help the community." He also said "I am sorry to all the times I have referenced the 'big ol' women of San Antonio'. I know it was wrong of me to say this and I hope my involvement with this nonprofit will motivate others to get involved."

Dave Grohl is not a Outer Banks resident but he has publicly stated he is a fan of the Outer Banks community and the surrounding area. Grohl is of course the frontman for the Foo Fighters band and also of course former Nirvana drummer. Grohl has visited the Aviators stadium multiple times but sadly he said it was in the off-season. This time the team wanted to extend their hand to him to come be at one of their games and throw out the first pitch. Grohl even let the fans know that he is planning on coming again with his entire band to perform pre-game. A win-win for the team!

Dennis Anderson is a name that not many may know on first glance but his impact in the monster truck world is very very impactful. Anderson is the creator of arguably the greatest monster truck to be created in "Gravedigger". Anderson is an Outer Banks resident and advocate for the community. Anderson actually resides in Kill Devil Hills which is the most populated portion of the Outer Banks area. Dennis decided to rep his Aviators jersey and his aviator glasses to appear on the mound and throw out a perfect strike down the middle of the plate. Look for more appearance of Dennis at local Aviators games.

Ed O'Neill of Modern Family and Married with Children fame also has family in Outer Banks so when he visits them he also likes to catch an Aviators game. Aviators let him through out a pitch with the rest of his co-stars at one of the first ever games in the PBE history and they welcomed Ed back solo for a second time when he was in the neighbourhood weeks ago. Ed has been seen walking around film sets with his Aviators jersey and frequently tweets about his love for the sport of baseball as a whole. Aviator fans have made Ed one of their founding fathers of the franchise!

Death Valley might not look like a crowdy place but it always gets rowdy when baseball season starts. The first pitch being thrown out by a celebrity is hugely anticipated event that many across the state take a break and see biggest musical star on the stage. It rotates every year and is connected with after the game concert too. This time around it's going to be the band Kasabian with their newest album that they are promoting on their tour. Hopefully they will be able to perform in the Heat Wave park, which is expected to be as close as 100 degrees fahrenheit. Fans are certainly ready for that tough!

Providence Crabs has yet another interesting tradition for chosing a celebrity for an opening day match. Well the word celebrity might not be best word, but that person is certainly a local legend. Crabs being foodies and providence prouding themselves in best cooks, restaurants and all that stuff organizes yearly competition of eating all variety of sea food like crabs, lobsters in timed measure. Whoever eats the most gets the pleasure of throwing the first pitch at crabs ballpark. Unusual idea, but certainly keeping the fans engaged. Though last year unfortunately one of the winners haven't really took the win well and barfed on the mound. They cleaned it up well, but certainly will delay bringing the winner immediately after.

San Antonio Sloths love bringing another sport stars into the mound on their first game of the season. They have a lot of great teams nearby including basketball San Antonio Spurs for example with famous starts like Demar Derozan or Tim Duncan that is still around. But I think they got soccer fever this summer thanks to the World Cup, though France won it in controversial way. Instead Sloths invited best player of the tournament to throw the first pitch - Croatian native and Real Madrid (though who know for how long) central midfielder Luka Modric. He was kind of kerfuffled by the need to use his arms, since he has great legs, but quickly threw beatifull curvaball to kick of the season!

When it comes to Canada, there are a ton of celebrities to choose from and with Vancouver being the only Canadian city in PBE, you know most of them are going to be headed there to throw out a first pitch. One of the hottest Canadian celebrities in the game right now has to be Drake so you know he's getting a call to come throw out a first pitch. Tickets to that game are gonna be selling like hotcakes. Plus, I bet you we could at least get him to sing the national anthem what a treat. Ok not really, he should just stick to his own music let's be honest. Also not sure if his pitch would be any good he doesn't strike me as an athlete.

Ok so how's about another renowned Canadian celebrity for our next selection, that's right you guessed it the brilliant mind behind the hit song Despacito, it's Justin Bieber. I'll be honest this guy doesn't really strike me as an athlete either, I bet there's some footage of some terrible biebs first pitches out there somewhere. Also I don't know if anyone likes this guy anymore if they even ever did. Which is why every fan in attendance will be receiving a free tomato to throw at Bieber after he throws out the first pitch. Hit him and you win the prize of deep and utter satisfaction. You can't beat that, tickets to this game are gonna be selling like donuts at Tim Hortons.

And finally how can you go wrong bringing in one of the most high profile baseball celebrities in Vancouver to throw out the first pitch? He may have just retired but I bet this Vandals legend could still pack some punch behind a first pitch. That's right I'd bring old Boomerang Goblin back one more time to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the season to commemorate the most recent Vandals Championship. Who better to do it than one of the most beloved players in Vandals history. I think of all the people to do it, this is by far the best idea, the fans love this guy. Tickets to this game are gonna be selling like iPhones. Yeah cause for some reason people keep buying the shit out of those.

The Vandals have nothing if not a good sense of humor and often invite celebrities who are known for having some of the worst first pitches ever for a chance at redemption. They started last year with famous singer Carley Rae Jepsen, who wasn’t able to get the ball more than 15 feet a few years back in Tampa Bay. This time, the beautiful Canadian pop star performed much better for her home country, though she did cheat a bit by using an underhand toss. Laughing, she told reporters it was her only chance at getting the ball anywhere near the catcher.

Curtis Jackson AKA 50 Cent, who’s awful showing in his Queens, NY home town became the stuff of legend back in 2014. The team invited 50 Cent to the Vandaldome in a game against NY, and fans watched with bated breath to see if the famous rapper would redeem himself. This time, he held onto the ball a bit too long and sent it flying off to the right side of the plate. He says next time he’ll figure out how to split the difference, but that he would love the chance to come back and try one more time in a few years.

Lastly on the redemption tour was Gary Dellabate, known better by his pseudonym Baba Booey, famous for his time on the Howard Stern show. Not wanting to spend the next 10 years of his life being made fun of about it like last time, Gary actually spent several months training for the opportunity. He talked to his radio cohorts about how confident he was this time around, but when he stepped up the the mound the yipps must have gotten him, because he massively over threw, all the way back to the screen before getting “Baba Booed” out of town.

The Providence Crabs have had some BIG name people throw out the opening pitch due to the rich cultural history of the city. One such person was Will Blackmon, former National Football League corner back and current free agent. Will Blackmon was a fourth round pick back in 2006 and played for six different NFL teams before giving the Canadian league a try. During his NFL tenure Blackmon was able to win a Superbowl with the greatest team in the NFL the New York Football Giants in 2011. Obviously such a big name celebrity was well received by the Providence fans that day.

Pamela Sawyer is another local Providencian that has gone out in the world and made it big. Pamela is currently a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives having served since 1992 after graduating from the University of Rhode Island. Pamela Sawyer has no news regarding her actions or policies despite being in office for over 20 years. However, I think most Republican politicians agree that in this climate no news is probably good news. Pamela attempted her pitch with a lot of wind up and gusto but she ended up delivering a bouncing pitch to first base instead of home plate. Obviously, the fans enjoyed the mishap.

Lastly, and the biggest name on the list is none other than the man himself Josh Schwartz. I know everyone probably knows about Josh because of the impact he has had on modern society so I will not go into his cultural impact to people that follow the sport. Needless to say as soon as it was announced Josh would be making the opening pitch tickets sold out. The day of the game the fans were going insane an hour before the opening pitch was scheduled and the entire outfield was littered with a various collection of undergarments. When Josh did step up to the plate he delivered a perfect strike and the stadium rejoiced.

Although Michael Jordan does not originally hail from Cape Hatteras, or North Carolina at all for that matter. He does have a lengthy history with the state whether he be originally from there or not. Winning the National Championship with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1982, having his jersey No. 23 retired by the University, taking over a minority stake in 2006 in the then Charlotte Bobcats, and fast forward 4 years and Michael Jordan is the majority owner of the organization. With all this being said, MJ received a huge standing ovation when headed to the mound because many Aviators fans are also Hornets fans, as well as Alumni of the UNC.
CODE
117 words

Our next celebrity first pitch comes from none other than Jermaine Lamarr Cole, better known by his rap name as J. Cole. Although J. Cole was not born in North Carolina, he was raised in Fayetville, NC and to this day still resides in Raleigh, NC. Known for the pride he has for his beloved state of North Carolina, and how much he has given back to the state, it did not come with much surprise to see two things. One, being selected to throw out the first pitch for the Aviators, and two receiving as large as a standing ovation as he did. Whether you're a rap fan or not, you know as a NC native how much he has done for your state and for that he is receiving many thanks in return by the fans.
CODE
138 words

Lastly, we have a pick that if you're a true North Carolinian you'd get this pick, otherwise it may not mean much to you. Our next person throwing the celebrity first pitch is 3x NBA Champion and 5x All-Star Point Guard Stephen Curry, of the Golden State Warriors. Stephen was born in Akron, however he grew up in Charlotte and attended Davidson College in Davidson, NC. For those who have followed Steph since the Davidson days, you'd remember when he led his 10th seeded Davidson Wildcats into the Elite 8. Although Davidson itself doesn't have as big as an alumni population as schools such as Duke, UNC and NC State, Curry is still a big NC sports fan and can not be dis counted just for being on a team that has nothing to do with his hometown. For that reason, it was nice to see the Aviator fans giving him the warm welcome he deserved, and for all these fans know he could be joining the Hornets in the future //files.jcink.net/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif

1. President Donald J. Trump will throw out a first pitch in the greatest city out there! Serving his 2nd 4-year term, the president is still abhorred by many people out there and like so many presidents that throw out the first pitch, he will most likely be heavily booed. Trump is a huge Groetzinger fan as many people should be so Groetzinger can catch the president's first pitch. Security is heavy for the event but it goes on without any issues and in the end, it is a good time. Groetzinger provides a signed jersey to the president and then ballgame can start.

2. Jay-Z, New York Legend will be the next celebrity that would throw out the first pitch at the Voyagers game. Jay-Z, Mr. Brooklyn, Mr. HOV himself is beloved in the big city and will be cheered heavily amongst the crowd attending the game. While his career has pretty much ended in the rap category, he is still relevant as being a mainstay in the history of rap music. Jay-Z would be honored as well with a signed Yoyager jersey and him being a huge Voyager fan, he should be overjoyed. Phillip J. Fry will catch the pitch and the ballgame will get underway.

3. Popular from the hit MTV series, Betty and Groetz, Betty Bennett will be throwing out the first pitch at a Voyagers vs Vandals game in New York. I am sure this would be a good way to get under the skin of Chris Bennett having his mom throwing out the ceremonial first pitch to Ludwig Groetzinger, his arch nemesis. The throw will go to Groetz and they can hug after, furthering the anger in Bennett. She will be presented with 2 jerseys, both Voyagers jerseys, one signed Voyagers jersey and another with Groetzinger's number featuring the name, "Chris Bennett Sucks," on the back. //files.jcink.net/html/emoticons/smile.gif
